Why am I seeing a "VIN Already Registered" message in the app?

There are a few reasons why you might see a "VIN Already Registered" message in the Bouncie app. Expand the sections below to learn more about why and see the next steps based on your situation.

Using a Different Email to Login

If you've previously created your account and you are prompted to enter your vehicle's VIN, you have probably entered an email address in the initial login screen that is not the same one you used to create your account.

You will need to go back to the login screen and enter the email address and password you used when you set up your account. If you don't remember your password, tap the Forgot Password link below the login fields.

If you no longer have access to the email address that was used when creating your account, tap the button at the bottom of this article to start a conversation with us, and we can help you by changing the email address associated with your account.

Vehicle is Setup with Another User

If you are creating your own account and you're getting this message when trying to add a vehicle, it means that someone has already added the vehicle to an account and they need to share the vehicle with your account. Tap the button below to learn about this process.

Vehicle was Previously Registered

If you've recently bought the vehicle used, it is possible that the previous owner had a Bouncie account and were using our service to monitor the vehicle. If you believe this fits your situation, grab the vehicle's VIN and tap the button at the bottom of this article to start a conversation with us. We can search our system and find a solution!

If you need assistance, start a conversation with us while you are logged into the mobile app. Tap the top left corner and select Need Help. From there a Bouncie expert can assist!
