Where does Bouncie plug in?

Bouncie plugs into your vehicle's OBD2 port.

How does Bouncie get power?

While driving, Bouncie operates entirely from the power provided by the OBD2 port. In the first five seconds of turning on your vehicle, you should see lights inside of Bouncie.

While the vehicle is parked, Bouncie enters into a low-power mode where it monitors the health of the vehicle's battery, and periodically checks in with our servers to report its operational status, cell-network availability, and update its location.

The app always shows the vehicle's location and device health, even when the vehicle is off.

Does a cellular device need to be in the vehicle for Bouncie to work?

The device is self-contained and communicates to our servers over its own internal cellular connection (using an internal sim card), so you don't have to worry about carrying a cell phone with you while driving. However, if you want to view the data collected by Bouncie, it can be accessed in the app from anywhere.

What cellular service does Bouncie use?

Bouncie uses the AT&T and T-Mobile 4G Data Network.

What countries are supported by Bouncie?

Foundationally, Bouncie displays driving history on a map. Currently, we have map support in the United States (US, including Puerto Rico), Canada, and Mexico so we are limited to those countries. There are also no device range limits within the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Does Bouncie have WiFi capabilities?

The Bouncie device does not function as a WiFi hotspot and does not provide a WiFi connection. It also does not connect to anything via WiFi. Bouncie uses the AT&T and T-Mobile 4G Data Network to send data to our servers.

How does Bouncie keep me notified?

You can set up notifications for various driving events in the Bouncie App, and when these events occur, the app will alert you via push notifications. Text and email alerts are not sent since the Bouncie app is your one-stop-shop to view driving data. Even though you would not receive a text as a general notification, you would get a text in the event of an impact if you have that feature enabled in the app.

Does Bouncie make noise?

Bouncie does not make any sound, noise, or beep.

Does Bouncie record audio or talking?

Bouncie does not record audio. It is specifcally used to record and report driving data through a vehicle's OBD2 port.

Can Bouncie remote start my vehicle?

Bouncie is designed to read and report driving, vehicle, and location data. The device does not interact or control vehicle systems, so it cannot start your vehicle remotely.

Can Bouncie unlock my vehicle?

Bouncie is designed to read and report driving, vehicle, and location data. The device does not interact or control vehicle systems, so it cannot unlock your vehicle.

Does Bouncie work in electric vehicles?

The short answer is yes. Most electric vehicles have an OBD2 port as a part of their system and Bouncie plugs into the OBD2 port to collect data. If the electric vehicle does not have an OBD2 port, Bouncie can't be plugged in.

Does Bouncie work with motorcycles?

If the motorcycle has an OBD2 port then the answer is yes. However, most motorcycles are not equipped with OBD2 ports, which Bouncie needs to plug into. If the motorcycle does not have an OBD2 port, Bouncie cannot be plugged in.

Does the Bouncie device come with a warranty?

Yes! The OBD device is warranted against all defects or malfunctions for as long as you have a data subscription.
